The Salishan Tibetan Terriers are bred by Gary and Susan Carr, who have owned and exhibited them since 1975, and have been breeding them since 1979. The Carrs are Register of Merit Breeders whose kennel has produced some of the country's top show dogs. Their dogs have earned over 350 AKC Championships and Obedience titles.
The Salishan Tibetans have descended from a combination of several of the great Lamleh and Luneville dogs, and their pedigrees now show five generations of Salishan champions - American, Canadian, Mexican, and Bermudan - with OFA certification and with certifiable eye examinations.
If you were to visit the Salishan dogs, you would be able to meet many of the decendants of Am/Can. CH Salishan Tessie Tukra, ROM, mother of 17 champions. Tessie was from the first litter bred by the Carrs. Many Salishan Tibetan Terriers who have been listed in the Top Ten over the years are also in residence.
Am/Can. CH Salishan's Lady of Zonnevilla, the #1 Tibetan Terrier in 1992 and Best of Breed at both the Westminster Kennel Club show and TTCA National Specialty show that year, lives in the best of all worlds - spending her retired time on fenced acreage as a beloved member of the family. "Mikki" will happily greet you at our door along with the rest of the Salishan little people. They all look forward to introducing you to this wonderful breed of dog.
